WNW: Overheard

Still recuperating from the LDStorymakers Conference (short summary: BEST ONE EVER).

So in lieu of a regular Word Nerd Wednesday post, here's a video discussing, among other things, me as the Word Nerd.

The video was made by J. Scott Savage for the class he and James Dashner taught together at the conference. It supposedly shows how they came up with their topic.

(Pay close attention from 0:53 to 1:10. So. Awesome.)

HA HA HA!
"I'd like to see her conjugate that." Best line ever!

I saw this at Savage's blog and it cracked me up. I love how Dashner is all about self-promo, too. You are loved!

That video is so awesome, watched it twice now (since the conference) and it's still funny (or I have no life).

In other comments: my blog today is titled "Survivor: LDS Author Style". You may be interested in reading it. Sarah M. Eden may be as well. Just insight into my twisted mind.

Still laughing (in my head two minutes later, my kids would wonder about me if I were LOL two minutes later.)

I thought this was the best part of their session :) Seriously, other than the part about never giving up . . . some day.

Annette, I have to agree. That was the best conference I've ever attended! So what if was only my first time attending. It still rocked!

The video was hilarious! Thanks for posting it. It was much easier to hear the audio here at home than it was from the back of the room at the conference.

I'm sad the conference is over. I'm with James, it rocked!

The video is awesome. Our kids enjoyed it too.

Clever, clever, clever!!

PS: Here's to putting your feet up, girl, after that whopper of a conference. You deserve it!

That's awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed the Conference. Keep doing what you do- it's helping even women like me with an unholy and improper use of (-) in my sentences!

How does your husband feel about those guys saying they wanted to see you conjugate? Cuz that made me terribly uncomfortable.

(And without wanting to sound unkind, I did attend a couple of classes where I'm pretty sure "I'll just talk about myself" was the only thing on the presenter's note cards. But the rest was very good. And I heard from multiple sources that your class was fabulous.)

You deserve some chocolate after that conference! unless you are sick to death of chocolate.

Seriously, it was so helpful to me. I came home with a huge writing to do list, and some of it's actually getting done. Thank you for all the work you put in to make it happen.

Too funny. "I like to talk...about myself." Classic! Sounds like you guys had an amazing conference! I think we need to move to Utah to hang out with all you cool writers!

And why don't either of those guys write humor novels?

Michelle said...

Haha. This is great.

There's been so much chatter about the conference. It makes me wish I'd been there, even though I don't think I could write a story to save my life. ;)
